At MPCDC we feel that training is an important part of any dog’s life, as training provides mental stimulation which helps to keep your dog happy. After training classes your dog will generally be both mentally and physically tired, & therefor more inclined to be calmer and more relaxed dog for the rest of the day. The techniques learned during our dog training classes can then be incorporated into the owners daily exercise programs to keep their dogs mentally & physically stimulated.

If you are considering joining, you are most welcome to attend the club to view training and meet the training team prior to completing a formal application for membership to attend classes.
- Learn more about other dogs & breeds. As we are a multi-breed dog club, you will gain a greater appreciation and interest in a wide range of dogs. It's also fun to hear the experiences & stories from other dog owners.
- Learn new tricks, teaching your dog means you're learning some skills as well.
- Fun for the whole family, we offer a unique place for the whole family to enjoy being together, with your "four legged" family member.
- "give back" to club through becoming a volunteer and helping out in our doggy community (if you choose to)

The Official Stuff
To join you need to complete the MPCDC Membership Form, this can be completed in advance to save time on the day or completed at the club. Please note by joining you are agreeing to abiding by the club rules which are detailed below.

Please remember whichever one you choose you must also bring proof of full dog vaccination & proof of concession (if applicable) as these must be provided at the time of enrollment.
In addition you will also be required to pay the applicable Membership Fees.
Fees
When you initially join the club you will need to pay a Joining Fee & Annual Membership Fee to activate your membership. Once your membership is activated you can then enroll in your class, after which you just pay the applicable weekly Class Fees on attendance.
Currently the weekly the class fees are $3.00 which are paid prior to attending the class.

* The Victorian Canine Association Inc (VCA) is a non-VCA member insurance levy that is required to be collected and forwarded to the VCA by all affiliated clubs. This levy applies only to Victorian club members who are not members of the VCA Inc, if you are already a member of VCA let us know and we will adjust the Annual Fee accordingly.

Dog Training Equipment - Dog training collars, leads, & equipment are available to purchase from the Club Store located at our Clubhouse (open during our operating hours on a Saturday between 8:30am to 11.00am ). So if you are unsure what equipment you should use for training your dog, rather than buy the wrong thing, you are welcome to discuss this with our instructors to ensure you get the right equipment for your dog training. All proceeds then go back into the helping the club.
Eftpos facilities are available at the clubhouse for payment of Joining and\or Annual Fees & the purchase of Training Items . It should be noted that class fees on the day should be paid by cash.

MPCDC CLUB RULES
You are welcome to download the MPCDC Rules.
- All children under the age of 7 years, brought to the Club grounds, are the sole responsibility of their parents, as they are not covered under the club’s insurance policy and must be supervised at all times by an adult, who is not involved in dog training.
- All other children brought to the club grounds must be supervised by an adult at all times who is not involved in dog training.
- Any person bringing a dog to Cub grounds or activities, shall at all times by wholly and totally responsible for the care, well being, health and action of the dog in their charge.
- Handlers must be financial members of the club and training fees must be paid before training commences.
- All members are required to sign in on arrival at the club grounds.
- Membership badges will be provided and must be worn at all times whilst on club grounds.
- Any dog bought to the club grounds by a member must be registered with the club and must have a current Council registration.
- Membership cannot be accepted without presentation of a current vaccination certificate. Every dog must have had its second vaccination.
- Members are responsible for their own dog’s waste which must be picked up and deposited in the white containers provided by the Club.
- No dog is allowed off lead without an Instructor’s permission.
- All dogs must be with their handler at all times or crated in the designated area.
- Tethering of dogs is only permitted in designated area, after consultation with an instructor.
- Do not approach crated dogs.
- Handlers under the age of 12 years must be assessed by President before they can be permitted to participate in Club training activities.
- Only handlers and Instructors are permitted on the ground when training is in progress. All visitors and family members should stay away from training areas.
- No bitch in season or dogs with Kennel Cough is permitted in the vicinity of the grounds.
- Striking or kicking your dog is not permitted.
- No dogs are to be left in cars when temperature is in excess of 20°C
- Dogs left unattended in cars must not be able to reach any person who passes close to their car. Make sure they cannot get their heads out of the windows and they remain within the confines of the car. All dogs left in cars must have adequate water and ventilation.
